Hello to Everyone, I would like to create a contest for the upcoming year. I know it is early in the season for Flytraps but this contest is for the biggest trap of the entire year so it's good to start early. Contest ends December 31, 2015 at which point I will personally come up with a prize and send it out to the winner (a custom t-shirt, a plant, I don't know yet). I believe it has always been my intention to grow a Venus Flytrap to an enormous size, it's just that a bunch of Cephs, Helis, Pings and Sundews got in the way. Let me know what you guys think. Here would be the rules:
1 Plant must be grown by the grower for at least 3 months, 2 Some kind of reference point must be visible in the photo, (a measuring tape, and no trick tapes allowed!) 3 Minimum of 3 photos from different angles to better demonstrate the size of the trap
Post pics here.
Cheers, Amanito.

Is it Ok if they're frozen solid? ...nope, all entries must be live plants along with growing history. I reserve the right to amend some rules and regulations as this contest moves along. Not to screw over potential winners but to help things move smoothly along. Ahh the irony of it. Everyone here is years ahead of me with their plants and most likely I have no chance of winning with my seedlings and minimal adult plants. I am doomed to lose but it should all be very exciting! Good luck to all and I hope we see some HUGE traps! Amanito

Hi Everyone, I would like to ask anyone here to submit cool Flytrap images. These cannot be pictures but digitized images so the girl that does my embroidery can put them into her 'magical embroidery computer machine' (don't remember the type of file they have to be). These should be cool images but not too complicated or busy, because that doesn't really work with embroidery, simple but cool. I'd like to start planning the prize list.
Rule Amendment #1 - There will be 3 winners. Gold, Silver and Bronze
Please submit because I am useless at Photoshop and other image software. I'm sure there's ones here that can do this kind of stuff in their sleep.
Cheers! Amanito

...This is a long term contest so I realize it is not at all exciting, or even of any interest to most right now, in the middle of winter. I suspect it will pick up steam once the spring sun breaks and winter will just be a distant memory. Please submit images. If people do submit and there are a bunch of them some time later on, we can have a vote to pick the best ones that will end up being embroidered on something and given away as prizes.
Cheers, Amanito.
