The 2 VFT's I got from Amazon were sent in LFS I think because its stringy and looks nothing like Sphagnum peat Moss(the kind that looks like dirt) Anyway it has turned black under and around the plants Did anyone else have this problem and what should I do??

Sphagnum Moss turns brown or Black from their tips when they are experiencing low humidity. Your LFS should still work even if it looks cooked.

I got a VFT shipped to me from Amazon in CA it took roughly a week in which it was in a cardboard box taped shut the plant made it some of the traps are open its acclimating right now How long will it need to acclimate? when can I start feeding it? should I wait until it acclimates first?

What are you acclimating it to? outdoors presumably in which case you need to gradually introduce it to the sun (especially after being in total darkness for a week) or it will burn, not that that is a problem as the new growth will emerge and be hardened to the light anyway, but you will loose the present growth. Otherwise shade it from hot and full midday type sun with a shade cloth for a couple of weeks, taking it off periodically when the weather allows (take it off completely on overcast days etc)to harden the foliage, or start it off in a shady place moving it more into the full sun over a couple of weeks. If the weather is warm enough for your trap to digest prey, then yes you can feed it, as a rule of thumb something about 1/2 the trap size, or less, otherwise you can damage the trap as it wont seal correctly.
Cheers Steve

I have a VFT question I need answered My VFT has a expired trap...that's fine but the piece that turns into the trap is still folded into the leaf and turning black!!! Its under LED lights only what can I do to stop this from starting on other leaves or stems?

-cut off the black parts of leaf -plant may be too wet and causing rot but this would start with root rot and move up plant...I believe flytraps are often kept too wet (I've recently stopped using tray watering method where they sit in water all the time as I feel they are too wet when in 50/50 peat perlite and sitting in say a 1/4 -1/2 inches of water.

Mine is in a 2" pot of Lfs and is always damp, but if I tilt the pot water comes out as drops on a related topic why would a new VFT shoot have a black tip or the piece that forms a trap be black? would a terrarium do anything?
