Here's a quick summary of CP sellers in BC. I've been in touch with all of them, and have found them all to be very polite and helpful. I've never been 'ripped off' by any of them, but have only purchased from a couple of them, and have been very happy and satisfied with their plants: Hawaiian Botanicals ......healthy plants and very helpful advice www.hawaiianbotanicals.com/ebay's Macrovulgaris ....great neps at bargain prices when no one else bids (sdeering has been scoring big time Keehns carnivores ......... TC, helpful fellow and reasonable prices www.keehnscarnivores.com/Dan Sierzega ............... has every sarracenia sp variety and cultivar, and a lot of orchids. No website. Buy Canadian, eh ...and avoid customs, CITES and other permitting headaches. **** POST EDITED - removal of one supplier formerly listed here.

Okay ... as a forum to share experiences, I will be posting thoughts on some Nurseries I've had the pleasure of dealing with (heck if eBay can do it... so can we ) Keehn's Carnivores operates out of BC interior (Lumby, BC) www.keehnscarnivores.com/Very nicely packaged and promptly delivered as promised. Proprietor followed up with Pre and Post delivery. Nice, healthy VFTs - professionally labelled - big and robust, with many growth points. Plants originated from Tissue Culture. After almost one week in my greenhouse, the plants are perking up and have adapted well. ***** A definite FIVE stars out of FIVE. I'd definitely recommend

In regards to ordering from MT and the size of plant. The following is a copy of a post on terraforums: Tony Paroubek ..... I have also had alot of problems with MT plants the past couple years.... plants are small and have internal fungi symptoms. Losses are high. Have you treated with fungicide?

For years now everytime I go Vancouver I stop in hawaiian Botanicals and always end spending $$$$$$$$ lots of it they are awesome people and they have a small place but full of nice plants. I have never order online from them but i am pretty sure they would be very professional as always. Cheers Xavier

Another member here has ordered from Keehn's and was well impressed- I don't know hwy they didn't post here, perhaps I will encourage him to, as I do believe Rick is doing a great thing for us Canadian VFT and Drosera fans lol! I didn't post here since I didn't know there was this kind of a useful thread. I have too many good things to say about rick at keehns carnivores. He is an amazing friend..more than anything else. With one order...we have exchanged soo many emails....we are now really good friends...regularly in touch. I got all my plants except the walmart dentate and rona lansing dentate from him. They are in spectacular condition. First rate service. And he always gives a bonus with every order you do... a free drosera capensis. Lol! that drosera is bomb proof as shiela on CP UK forums put it. In anyways keehns carnivores is probably my top recommendation for anyone. The only issue is rick doesn't have a big selection in cultivars. But last I spoke to him...he is making a new greenhouse and expanding. I am planning on a mass order of like 50$ + from him next spring...or so.... cheers, varun -------------------

I was checking out the prices on Cooks Carnivorous plant site and am thinking about making a big purchase from them in the spring. Has anyone had favorable dealings with them in the past year? What all is involved with getting plants from the States so they don't get held up at the border? Thanks

Borneo Exotics Having just posted a number of photos from their site onto other threads on our forum, I thought I'd quickly update all with our experience with BE. We're very pleased with the promptness and professionalism given to us by the folks at BE. Rob Cantley personally answered a number of emails promptly. His export manager, Mr. Dixon, was also very helpful in updating us on our most recent plant order. Overall, two thumbs way up. Although a few plants were tiny (it had been stated as such on their on-line PDF catalogue), most plants were nice and big, with healthy roots. All plants came along with pitchers. The permits, exchange rate, GST, PST, shipping charges, inspection fees, brokerage charges and other red tape came up to a multiple of 2.93x. So to get a fair estimate of the final cost to you for the plant prices listed on their catalogue, multiply by this rate to get an idea of the final cost in Canadian dollars. David we're now awaiting our order from Triffid Park to compare...
