Hi DVG - I'd not seen that thread. I just wasn't sure if you could over stratify VFT seeds. I know you can reduce the germination percentage with sarr seed (incidentally I had sarr seed in there with them - flava and minor, so I expect a little lower germination on those).

Drew: thanks man :-)
Martin: i use dryed blood worms, and i feed them once a week. This take a lot of patience because its so tiny. The seedlings on the pictures have 2.5 months old.

I have a cultivator called big jaws. I have no idea as to the age of it and was going to put it in dormancy regardless I read somewhere that these flytraps can skip the first dormancy period if this is the first growing season. Will making this overwinter harm it in any way since the age of the plant is unknown? I bought this from HB and think its a year old but I am not sure.

From my experience, you can skip the first 2-3 dormancy. The growth will be faster. Once the plants are adult, or not so far, you have to give them a seasonal cycle.

These can skip dormancy2 or 3 times? not calling you a liar but why? Will the traps get bigger if growth is faster? I keep these in my bedroom so no one messes with them like re-plant and fertilize it,give it the wrong water type, or something like that cause no one here can grasp the idea that whats good for some plants can hurt or kill others. Is there a temp to keep them skipping dormancy? or is room temperature good enough? Do I water them as usual or reduce the water? why don't they need a dormant period? won't this kill them if they are denied a dormancy??? This cultivator can grow around 5 inches long and makes 1 inch traps now!

Each grower have his own technics When you skip the dormancy, provide to your plants the same growing conditions all year round.
