I picked up the seeds at the ICPS show, I don't remember from who.
They are about 8 inches from T5 HO bulbs, but the lid of the container gets lots of condensation on it, so they are a bit green. I find seedlings don't develop tons of colour.

Well, I am inspired. Between DVG and Peat's pictures I was convinced to purchase VFT seeds from two sources today. Hopefully I'll have VFT's to add to the list in a few months. Now for the problem of how to make space for them...

Now for the problem of how to make space for them... Yes VFTs are great fun to grow out from seed, especially with the diversity that comes from seed grown plants. Best of luck with your seedlings to be Apoplast. dvg

Here's another update on my VFT seedlings. They have gone from taking springtails to capturing D. melanogaster flightless fruit flies. This one is currently the largest seedling of the bunch. And some have even started to show some color on their traps. Hopefully in another month or so the traps will be taking down D. hydei flightless fruit flies, and then these seedlings will really get a boost in growth. dvg

Nice pics! Do you breed these flightless fruit flies yourself? Yes i do breed two species of flightless fruit flies as well as a few species of springtails. Having different sizes of feeders comes in handy with getting smaller CPs off to a good start. dvg

Oh Doug, is there anything you are not good at growing?! That's some rapid progress. As always, I am impressed.

I found that if you buy the cheap dollar store soil and grow marigolds or something in it then you might have i have done that put it beside my nepenthes container and now i have noticed an explosion of springtails in there.
