As requested by Mr V, here's the beginning of a journal... from the mating of the redeye treefrogs to the eggs just laid yesterday: The rainchamber: The proud parents: egg cluster #1 egg cluster #2 There are a few more large clusters of eggs on some other leaves, but I couldn't get my camera inside the tank to shoot them. I'm guessing that they'll hatch in a week or so. Till next time...

wow! that will be a lot of red eyed tree frogs D. congratulations. Will you let some loose near your pond? No... they wouldn't survive in our climate... and it's an alien species. I counted 138 tadpoles this morning. Yikes... time to get the cricket farm ready.

Tadpoles have quadrupled in size... and are eating machines.

I've lost count of how many tads are in the tanks... there are six tanks of tads. Now I'm worried about how to feed them all when they morph out. And they'll be morphing out at around Christmas time! yikes. It's not like my Pacific treefrogs, of which I just release into my back yard. The largest tads are now over 1" in length. So if any of you are interested in baby red eyes in a few months... you'd know where to look for them. I guess I'd be trading them for frog food... or for cash to buy frog food

well! Keep us updated D. I don't know......I really like this species. I would really really like to try keeping a couple of these frogs. But I dont know of how much investment its going to cause me....i.e., a new tank, lighting for it, temperature modulation, food, care required etc etc. But you never know what can come up later so I might decide to finally jump in.

Hey D. I saw a red eyed tree frog for sale in Pj's pet store in square one. I think it was around 75$ for a single one. It looked amazing. IT had the nice blue streaks on the belly...looked very healthy and clean. It was ofcourse asleep as it was bright in the store. I soooo wanted to buy it. I also had a run with a craze on the veiled chameleon today at petsmart. it was 99$. I almost convinced my parents that I will buy one with my money. lol! then I realised that it will take atleast 300$ to set up a system for it or the frog and backed off.

Hi all...
I had forgotten my password, and didn't get around to checking out for a lost password email. Anyways, I lost around 1/3rd of my red eye tadpoles a month back when the heater malfunctioned... i've still got around 100+ retf tads left.
As usual, i've also lost a few neps due to our winter freeze. Damn cold weather.
Hope to write some more later on. Hope you all are keeping well!
David
