Mine has three healthy pitchers with winter leaves plus at least two or three new pitchers emerging as well. Seems to be quite happy in its new digs.
I don't think the lower humidity will harm it... I don't know if they really know if they need a shorter photoperiod or not... I usually give them the same as the rest of my active stuff.

Here is a pic of mine taken today... it looks like it has adjusted to the transplant and is starting to commence with business as usual: Here is a shot of the growth crown - not the best pic - I REALLY need that closeup macro lens, Sophia - hint hint...

The plant came with three pitchers forming. One aborted and the two at 9 and 3 o'clock (in the second photo) developed. The pitcher at 12 o'clock is new under my conditions as is the new growth fuzzily shown. The plant came potted in LFS and stayed that way until about three weeks ago.
It's actually grown at a consistent rate since I got it... the transplant didn't seem to slow it down one iota.
I got that sand directly from Jay. It's called "White Lightning #2040" and seems to keep things fairly loose. All I know is that everything I've planted into it, mixed 50-50 with peat that was not beyond the point of no return has responded positively.

wow....based on what you say....that is pretty fast. Nice. I remember reading that some of the giant varieities are faster than the typical.

Yours looks quite happy as well. Congrats.
If you get that white fuzz on your ceph again, check VERY carefully to make sure that there isn't a small insect or three under that stuff. Could be mealy bugs and they're practically born pregnant (like those "tribbles" from star trek)... they can wreak havoc on a plant collection.

Sounds like powdery mildew....I personally would spray my ceph with Safer's Defender. I have used it for a year on my cephs. It saved them from dying as they were not growing well at all so I figured try it and if plants die then they were headed that way anyway. It cleared up the white hair like fungus on the plant and solved the problem. Just search this site for the word "defender" to learn more.

i searched defender and came up with nothing?? but yes im definitely havin a pest prob with my ceph, this morning it looks very bad now spreading to the pitchers, its all focused in the growth point and on one non carn leaf but its began spreading very quickly as rick and savage garden suddested, so today after work ill go buy the appropriate contorls, and hopefully reverse this prob and good and simple suggestions would be greatly appreciated i spent much of lastnihgt learning of this pest and now i know that its form over humid stagnant air, inside growing is much more difficult then outdoor forsure, there are many more elements you must compensate for ugggh
so in conclusion a good mix or procedure for ridding of this pest anyone?? id hate 2 loose this specimen

first thing I would say is start backing off on the water.
Wait for a while...the trich will be coming and then you can treat it with that.

If it's mealy bug you can see them with a magnifying glass, they have an evil spiky look. They are bad news and require repotting and treating the roots and quarantine.
