Hi guys,
I have been reading horror posts of VFT's coming out of dormancy early and dying. This is infact why I tried the hasty removal of the dentate. To see if this is indeed true. Barry's book, barry faq, other faqs....none talk about this...they just say from this time to this time and yeah. when exactly do I remove the VFT's from dormancy and what is the proper way to reexpose them. My problem as u know is the terrarium where it will live and the other plants which are in the growing phase....I cannot readjust the light as the others will step into dormancy. I am especially concerned of my typical and red dragon in dormancy. So far they are fine....the corms are white and firm...they have still no fungus signs *touches wood*. I want to properly go through this and be happy that I am successful with my favourite CP and that I can take it through its cycle.
cheers,
vraev

I checked mine out to clean them and noted some new growth in the fridge! I'm just going to take them out in local spring (late March or early April) and put them in the sunroom.

If you can wait till about mid march to early april to bring the fly traps outta dormancy , thats the best . It follows the habitats natural cycle , if they are coming out too early drop the temp, and the plants don't need any light, while in dromancy . The cool cellar where i store my plants gets zero light , and an average temp of 2C . hopes this helps

But don't they say 3-4 months is enough? I put my fly traps in during sept end and I just took em out on feb 2nd for one and jan 20 for the walmart dentate.
The bad issue is there is NO SIGN OF ANY MOVEMENT OR GROWTH AT ALL. :S . I just have my fingers crossed. :S

The plants won't mind a longer dormancy just to get them on track , ive done it with flytraps and sarr's , bringing out to early can produce weak leggy plants , that most of the time die , i spent about 100 bucks over the years ,when i was in my teens figureing that one out .

What's wrong with plants in the fridge? What's lettuce anyways? VFT's smell a lot better than brussells sprouts anyways.
