A proper dormancy for a plant is going in ~ October and comming out ~ April... Cya whoa...that technically means like 7 months dormancy and 5 months of growing :S ...seems like a rotundofolia requirement. I always read VFT's are fine with 4-5 months....thats atleast how the carolina environment is. Thats what Barry says in his faq. I guess what he also says is true dormancy is different. I heard this said a couple of times on CPUK by Ventura, Brad... "A true sight of a VFT breaking dormancy is very distinctive." Apparently the growth is unmatched in to breaking dormancy in its entire cycle. I guess it comes down to the plants getting really used to you and understanding your conditions. lol! about VFT's in fridge....I agree too....I think VFT's are as good as any other vegetable in the fridge...infact better considering that many veges have been genetically modified and grown in pesticidal conditions. I guess the concern is that its a wild plant that eats bugs.

well...one thing is for sure....walmart dentate 1..the plant that started me with CP's at the very beginning and the small little baby plantlet that came with it are NO MORE. .. I took them out of the soil unable to bear the suspense and noticed their corms were brown and mushy...they are dead jim . The green dragon is also looking the same...the corm is kinda dead but the last leaf part was still firm....trying to see if it can make it (NO HOPE) I cleaned it and this time put it in the bed of my sphagnum moss to see if it can take that better. In the meanwhile the typical which I took out last week is still nice and green. I don't know if its just me but the trap seems to have grown a mm or so . I hope atleast this guy makes it. Sheesh! next season will be interesting...my entire collection will go to dormancy. Yikes!! :S BTW....look at the dentate I still have...this guy is huuuuge...I took him out when I had to put the typical that came out of dormancy as it takes presidence . That corm is insane. I can't dare to imagine how the corm sizes of my B52 and the growing typical are I kinda felt bad I took him out...but as I said...typical VFT is a higher priority for me

I am atleast happy that the one TYPICAL which is a year + old out on soil has survived...its growing already...I can see teeth forming and a new leaf forming. Well.......1 VFT of 3 that went into dormancy survived.
