I have 2 Typical flytraps as well as a Big Jaws this spring I plan to get a b 52 and a King Henry flytrap to make things easier and make some space I was going to plant all of them in a larger pot also just to sync them to all go dormant at the same time next winter, I need to know what diameter pot I need and depth of pot needed for them.

How can something be experiencing shrinkage and be rock hard at the same time?

I put my Big Jaws in dormancy the same time as my Typical s My Big Jaws died off fast I lost 4 leaves in a month! It developed yellow leaves and what looked like a bite taken out of the leaf! I put both in a cool shed and all leaves in both pots are gone it looks like 2 pots of dirt I plan to repot them in new media as they come out of dormancy, this morning as I was misting the media I looked closer, and I dunno if it is me or I really seen this it looked like a leaf grew, withered and died back! Do I have a problem I need to remedy b4 spring?

I have 3 Venus Flytraps in a unheated shed for the winter. Its getting cold here and I have the whole pot covered with a old pair of socks with the exception of the bottom of the pot and a hole to mist the media on top.2 1/2 inch pots,3 inches deep With the pot, media, and the cloth wrap will these plant make it to spring or am I to expect 3 dead plants? right now we get -22 or -11 degrees with a vent to circulate air in the shed someone told me survival is possible. Has anyone here had a VFT experience cold temps and still started growing in the spring/?

Usually flytraps won't survive prolonged freezes. If you take them outta there now and put them in the fridge, they will have a much better chance of surviving.
If you decide to take them to the fridge, it would help to take them out of their pots and get rid of any dead/dying parts of the plant. It helps to prevent rot and mould. I used to wrap mine in moist paper towel or sphagnum moss and put them in little Ziploc bags and they always survived this way.
Good luck!

I cannot get then til Monday, the key disappeared again lol just kidding someone has the key due back Sunday! I will dig up the white bulbs and wrap them in a moist paper towel and put them in our empty fridge downstairs in a baggie until V-Day With a little sphagnum peat moss. I had 3 plants but one suffered a broken root,I saved it and it was making a root ball and grew 3 new leaves when it went in dormancy so I do not expect that one to come back in the spring. Will it still require a little misting now with the steam-distilled water(I have 5 liters and 4 of melted snow!) I have now and then? Any tips or advice will be appreciated. if 1 bulb does not strike them I might try propagation with the bulb with 10 hours a day LED light and lots of water. This is a learner plant If it grows its a bonus, if not then I will know better for the King Henry an B52 I plan to order this spring..

I think we are missing each other here My VFT's have no vegetation, all the traps and leaves died back into the media that is covered by peat in both pots so all I see is what looks like piles of dirt I checked on them today and the media feels cold with dampness but thats it They are covered in media in a pot and wrapped in old socks I had cut to fit the pot the bottom is not covered and the top just is open enough to mist the soil(pump spray bottle used with steam distilled water) In my opinion I think they are ok,regarding temperatures its protected by the peat moss, the plastic pots and the pots are in a cloth wrapping,, the shed had a vent to circulate air but the ceiling is covered keeping the coolest air up in the rafters not to mention the location of the pots, they are by a plugged in deep freeze making ice and I am not 100 % but I think the motor is generating some heat and the pots are on a shelf above the deep freeze, I guess I will know this spring, next year (my B 52 and King Henry (my Big Jaws and Typicals if they make it are going in a spare fridge net winter)I currently have 2 Typicales and a Big Jaws sleeping lol !!! Wish me luck getting these bulbs to grow this spring...oh if you know these are in the dark, how do I re-introduce these to light again after dormancy?

If I cannot get any fungicide to treat my venus flytraps once I get them or, is there a mixture I can make that will not kill them?

@ H2O I am germinating a variety of VFT seeds to see what I get sprouting I wanna make a VFT Terrarium for them but am confused I read the media should by kept damp and then read I need to put some kind of open ended tube to water it this tube has to go across the bottom ontop of the drainage rocks but should not need holes I the tube,,How do I get moisture in the peat enough to reach the VFT's without soaking the media...top water them maybe a little at a time until the media feels damp
