Hi this is my first forum post!
First of all i'd like to warn you that my english is poor, very poor.... Anyway i hope you will all understand what i say. I started to be interrested in cp a year ago. I'm an industrial automation technician , and as ( i don't know what's the word) final project in school i had to construct something that should resume everything i've learned. So i did an automated setup. I'll be posting pics soon.

Hey Simon, I'm in Quebec city too, as Dom1234 too. Perhaps if you're 'serious' about CP we could get a kind of meeting, by late summer, when I'll be back of my surveys/fieldtrips over eastern Canada.
Welcome

Hey Simon- your English is just fine- it's realy an interesting thing that most of our "Francophone" population uses English so well- I have enough French to get around but I'd not bother posting en Francais (TiTom sometimes gets me to try to IM him in French just to laugh ) Glad you made it here, I'm positive that this forum will be everything you want it to be! \m/ BTW my name's Carl

welcome simon!! your english is just fine, if you can't think of a word in english, just say it in french. many of us (myself included) are bilingual, so we'll manage just fine. je suppose pendant que je prétends être bilingue (j'ai un certificat qui l'indique de toute façon), je devrais expliqué que la dernière fois que j'ai utilisé mon français était en école secondaire, alors je vais probablement mélangé mes temps de verbes ! ! ! anyway, hope you enjoy the forum!! *EQL*

I'll try to post my first pict. IT's my final school project. I'm changing the water system right now and all my electrical wiring. But the main idea of this project is to be able to grow my carnivorous plant without having to take care of them! All i have to do is to put 30L of water in the bottom ''drawer'' and every plants will receive the good amount of water every weeks. For the humidity i use mist maker (French : brumisateur) . My temperature is read by a RTD (resistance thermo dynamique) , the humidity is read by a honeywell sensor. Everything is controlled by a PLC (french: automate programmable) from siemens. All the data (humidity and Temp) and settings (light exposure, humidity set point, temperature set point) can be access via touch screen panel wich you can see in the top front. I can also hook up my computer to have accurate reading via a time chart. Everything isn't working fine for now but i'm working on it! img513.imageshack.us/img513/2373/terrarium001wr9.jpg

Very impressive. This guarantees you high standing on this forum. Maybe you should sell a line of automated CP cabinets. You can have settings for Sarracenia, Nepenthe Highland, Lowland, Tepuis etc. Could you include a refridgerator for seasonal dormancy and RO unit attached to the water supply?
