(Vraev) When i went there the full red flava was available but there was so much to see that i forgot about it. (Dvg) Michael must have think i'm an idiot cause like you said i felt like a kid in a candy store. There is no greenhouse with that kind of variety in Canada . While we were there we decided to go to Virginia to visit an other one. Phil Sheridan's Meadowview biological station is non profitable CP nursery. He does reintroduction of Sarracenia , VA pine trees and other plants in the wild.He even does forest fire to help reforstation of pine trees. He has alot of crazy rare Sarracenia's cultivars. If you pay 25$ membership, plants are 50%.His plants are surronded by frost fences. Maybe i will give free help next year for a couple weeks. Most probably will order from Wistuba in the spring( unless people pevents me from buying plants from him. Some people say that he had ship tiny plants boosted with hormone , mold, unrooted Nepenthes that did not make it trough the first week.) I will try Triffid park and exotica plants ( EP has some plants in propagation for me) Labine

I am curious, can't you just apply for it from triffid park and ask for a phytosanitary certificate? That should be good enough to bring it through the customs shouldn't it?

Labine, I was involved in three Wistuba orders last year. All of the Neps I got from him are still alive and growing. Though it is true that some of his Neps are very small (The Mulu lowii, villosa, trusmadiensis amd muluensis), others are of a larger robust size. None of mine had mold on them. You just might have to take good care of some of the delicate little ones if those are the ones you choose, but he does carry some plants that you will be very hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Is that your B. reducta, labine? It looks different from mine, which is still growing in a tubular shape. Mine is still in a 4" plastic pot. I'm looking at yours and thinking maybe I should repot mine into a larger pot. What kind of medium are you using for your reducta?

fantastic plant their Labine. Its sooo cool. man! Do let me know once it splits. thanks! This is a real B.reducta Dvg... There are 3 possibilties: 1) Labine's is a juvenile plant and might be growing more like a regular bromeliad. 2) He is having lower light levels...I have read that you need very high light levels to get that tubular form. 3) It might be a young catopsis?? . I still wouldn't rule it out as a B.reducta though.

I'm wondering if it might not be a B. tatei. It doesn't look like it has the telltale breakaway waxy coating on the leaves' topside. My tatei grows in the same shape as labines picture. Plus, the striping on the leaves is more like my tatei than my reducta. The tatei has glossy leaves compared to the waxy reducta leaves. Labine I have a photo of my reducta on page 2 of the photo section. It is under the heading 'DVG must see collection' The author is PingKing and he photographed some of my plants in early May of last year. The B. reducta is on page 1 of that thread.
Also if you're looking for B. hechtioides seed, CZ Plants is offering it now.

Hey DVG, i looked at the picture you sent me to, i think mine is a Reducta also (compared to the picture).the new leave coming out really looks like mine. There is the round shape and the little white coating around the leave and has a pointy terminaison .also the red veins going vertically.Let me know what you think Labine
