hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of things to look for that says my plants are going into dormancy... i'm still not able to afford Savage Garden or Growing Carnivorous plant... (maybe i'll get them for christmas??) anyway... im not 100% sure what to look for. I have noticed that my typical's traps are only lasting about 2 weeks before they close for good and start turning brown. Is this a sign? And how should I store them over the winter? In pots? In media? in LFS? wet or moist? in darkness? In the fridge? At what temp? and anything else anyone can think of!!!
Thanks a bunch!!! *EQL*

I have a feeling we should compile the various dormancy methods into a sticky thread (not one started BY sticky, an actual "sticky")
There's a bunch of advice that pretty much fits all of them.
It definitely sounds like they're going to sleep, traps move slower and don't "do" as much overall.
I'd leave 'em in pots in a cool, dark-ish place (cool is 10C or lower I'd say). Don't water them very much, just try to keep the medium damp-ish. If you have a fungicide, you could give them a bit of that just to make it easier for you to keep things under control
