There must be pictures around here somewheres... Welcome aboard, hope we can help you out!! The sprout you describe does NOT sound like a carnivorous plant, but you should wait for "true" leaves before you rip it out
What kind of mix are you using for the "dirt"??

Hi!
Thanks for the fast replys! I have a typ of dirt named "Sowsoil" from the gardenstroe. And I have used regular tapwater. I think I might be a Sensetive plant, that is growing. What is the fastest way to plant an VFT?
Thank you!

Well you won't get any carnivorous plants to stay alive in that mixture. I would suggest using a peat and perlite mixture of 1:1. You shouldn't use regular soil as there are to many nutrients in it as well as minerals that are deadly to carnivorous plants. The PH is also way off for them. Here are the pics I have taken of VFT seedlings. They came up tis week so they are very small. As you can see the seed pod always sticks to the top of the leaves when they start and there are 3 leaves that usually come up at a time all connected to the seed pod. They will break away from the pod 1 at a time as the traps start to form. Hope these pics help you but as Maubudon says it doesn't sound like a vft seedling that you have going but don't give up on it till you know for sure. But don't use that mix as you will probably never have any favorable results. Also I would avoid using tap water. Read some more on the VFT forum and you will see that no one here will use it. You will learn a lot for this forum (I did!!!!) And Welcome to our comunity

ok, did you use regular soil or some "custom" made?

Always "custom made", unless you actually buy Carnivorous Plant mix from a CP retailer.
You want peat for acidity and moisture retention, mixed with something like silica sand or perlite to keep the mix looser and avoid compacting. Use rain water or distilled OR reverse osmosis filtered water

ok, did you use regular soil or some "custom" made? Remember that CPs will germinate on most media that has very little or no nutrients in it. So sphag moss, peat moss, and any inorganic material (vermiculite, perlite, mineral wool) that can maintain and hold moisture would be fine. I use 2 parts peat moss to 1 part sand (kids play sand) for my VFT mix.
