Here's the deal. Name a VFT cultivar you have that you don't think is worth bothering pursuing vs one you got that you think is one to be sure you have. This does'nt mean what's your favorite culitivar more the "hidden gems" that people might miss.
One to get- Low Giant Why- Nice low growth, big traps.
One to pass on- Fang The hairs don't seem anything longer then other VFT's.

We need to create or find a new cultivar that never produces "Shock Traps" and name it something like "Vraev's Delight" or something.
Did that just come out of my fingertips... guess this is what I get for waking up in the middle of the night!!!

To get: Pink Venus real blood red colour- bright and pure. Very nice low "thick" rosette growth
To pass: Aku Rya (red dragon) sickly and dirty red shade... like a dried scab colour. Grows stringy and limp ... like a wet noodle

yeah,...I agree...I love low and nice rosette forms rather than long forms. I really want to get low giant and pink venus.

to get... thats a toss up for me, either Green dragon -good red colour with green outline, always a strong and beefy ground rosette with good trap size. -OR- Red Rosetted - big ground hugging rosettes and large traps which have a nice dark inner colour. Puts out a ton of traps all season long, not just in busrts. Pass on red dragon -colour is ok, but the plant isn't vigorous, traps are small or average, and not put out very frequently. seams like the plant is allways producing the upright stringy leaves and is easily damaged. Just dosen't thrive the same. My 2 cents! Sib

worry not tom, I see nothing wrong with the colour, its the habbit that I don't like, I recommend green dragon instead: comepare that to davids picture of a red dragon and the difference in habbit it like day and night My other choice was red rosetted: look at the number and size of traps, it's hard to tell because of thepicture, but they're all good size. inner traps pick up a good red colour, but as you can see, mine don't remain open long enough for that to happen!
