I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on their medium of choice for growing vft's from seed. I know there are many different ways which ppl here grow them but I am really quite curious to know what everyone else has tried and had the best success with. I would assume that it would be some type of a peat mixture but I would luv to see the types of mixes that everyone has had success and no success with!? ;D

I have had good germination in peat + perlite. However, I am not too satisfied with it for older plants. I am planning on trying a new media. This time I want to try peat + sand.

my mix is peat+aqarium sand. grows nice!

50/50 peat and perlite....lighter then sand....

I am experimenting with a lot more open media with nearly 60% perlite 30% peat and 10% bark. I will let you know of the results in comparision with live lfs.
