There might be still hope.....I just recieved a mail from our local CP supplier friend Rick, at Keehns Carnivores. He said I am probably experiencing this deformed growth due to overfeeding whcih I certainly did. Apparently the symptoms are: deformed growth, tissue necrosis on over fertilizing and that is exactly what I am experiencing. I guess I'll wait longer.....before resorting to treating an invisible enemy. I guess fingers crossed.

Hey Vraev! Thats good to hear! Come to think of it, if you would have mites you would see something happen to your Dews... And your nep would get red spots alll over the leaves and you would see tiny little black or red or white spiders crawling of the underside of the leaf... Good luck and stay positive i'm sure there fine... Cya

yeah! I hope so. The traps all opened...they are just a little wavvy.....on the B52....a small small little new leaf head actually rotted and had white fungus. I cut it off.
The sundews are looking terrific. Thanks soo much curlingguy. Your sundews are really taking off....full of few and red tentacles. It is amazing.
ANd thanks soo much for everyone who contributed here to help me. I hope the plants get better.

Another little update guys....Rick said that the rotted VFT leaf tip and other problems I am noticing might be infact due to fungus gnats. I do recall seeing those little scampers. I see them pretty often....never thought they might cause damage. However apparently they do sometimes and especially in a terrarium where they can go uncontrolled. I just bought this online....looks like a friendly insecticide for CPs which he uses as well. www.richters.com/Web_store/web_store.cgi?product=XT2600&cart_id=1238973.14294I'll let u guys know of any results.

Thats true I didn't think of asking you that! I think that they only bother VFT's watch it for the Drosera's insecticides may not harm them but can cause them to loose all their dew! Cya

apparently this is nematodes....its pretty interesting....basically worms killling higher organisms....nice.....But its pretty expensive.....had to shell out 37$ ...but the plants are even more expensive soo I guess. .... ...The only thing I wonder is what to do with the leftover stuff....If i keep it in the fridge and my mom sees it when she comes over next time....I will have a real session of shouts and annoyances at me for having an insecticide in a fridge along with CP's near my food :S ..even though they are on seperate shelves :S

Now just to confirm.....is this a fungus gnat or not......a little 1 mm sized silverly looking insect ....walking....kinda just scampering along the ground....jumps around when tried to catch it........looks like wings on the back. I was blowing air in the center of my B52 and this funny thing....ran out....it was like "WHos at the door".....ran around a little here and there and went back under. every cm of peat I move ..there is atleast one running silvery bug that I see. I remember the time when I actually saw these flying into the terrarium...should have paid more attention....it was early september. more info regardng how the thing works: www.ext.colostate.edu/PUBS/INSECT/05573.htmlThe one I am getting is the SCANMASK live nematodes.

Hey bud those silvery lil things actually they are good for your aquarium. they eat fungus and other things that decompose in the terrarium. they are called springtails.

Fungus gnats, thrips, springtails; I find them hard to tell apart.

easiest way to distinguish them is if all your plants die, it's thrips, if not it's likely one of the other 2 Seriously, there are a lot of critters in most medium after growing stuuf in it for a while, and thankfully most of them are nothin- I remember when I first saw fungus gnat larvae in a pot, then in a bunch of pots, I thought it was the END, I spent hours picking the little guys out, but after doing that for a few weeks, I noticed that they weren't slowing down, and weren't really doing anything to the plants- nowadays, I only get freked out if a plant actually starts changing drastically (and having a lot of stuff that kinda goes dormant, "drastic" is basically the thing turns grey overnight or some such thing)

lol! I notice that the little water tunnel runoff thingy I have is nowadays filled wiht a lot of water....I notice little things 1 mm long swimming along or hopping around there...htere are a lot. i don't think it is thrips becos as carl says....my other plants are looking fine..Even the ones affected show normal growth. But yeahh! some new growth is already damaged while coming out....i thought it was just a mutated trap or so.....but I remember this was even more drastic on the walmart VFT....i guess that was the source. :@

Fungus gnats and springtails are totally diff stuff. I introduced springtails to all my 8 terrariums. The once that appeared in ur tank are the same i got in mine. they do nt disturb roots unless the root are rooting. Well VFT's don't like them Canrnyboy since they disturb the roots... Vraev... Thats fungus gnats alright! Cya
