Well needless to say my little VFT that got me started in CP's has finally succumed to never being repoted. I went to do a leaf pulling only to have the whole bulb pop out with out any effort on my part. Following another look at the bulb rot had set in and had destroyed almost the entire plant. So I did what pulling I could and I'll see what I can do with them. This was a sad feeling for me as this plant had managed to acheive one and a half inch traps. Hopefully I can get little plantlets started, will keep it posted if anyone is interested.

Well I had it for three years and I'm guessing that it was at least 3 when I got it. Sidenote: Pullings still green, I'm hopeful. Only two pullings though....

It's a tough feeling... of losing a "first" plant. I guess this illustrates the emotional attachment we CP'ers get when we get so absorbed by the passion of the hobby.
Hang in there Pem! We've all gone through this before, and hopefully learn from what we did right, and what we did not-so-right. Good luck.

On the bright side, at least this isn't "the way it goes" but rather an unfortunate incident- I can still reacll the "dark times" when buying a VFT was pronouncing a death sentence... Here's hoping the pullings survive man

If there's any of the white tissue intact at the base of the pulling, you should be okay. It just might take a while.

Yah they should be good I've taken pulling from the plant before succesfully and some of the now dead plants I had are from that. Dormatories can be cruel to plants.

be ware!!! 99% of the plants you can buy from any store are from mass produced clones, and come from tc. chances are if you try and put them out you may neuke them if your doing them outside. you may be able to do them in a window sill, just be careful. Thanks, Sib

just a question. How does rot on a white bulb look like? I have put VFT's in the fridge a little earlier. The bulb is hard and white yet..there is a portion which is still hard yet a bit brownish...its like one of those leaf node regions.

lol you were right sib, I just had to pinch a flower bud that suddenly came up. I think though that if another one does come up I'll keep it and give the seeds away.

Pem,
I had same experience you going through. if the leave you took has rot chances are not too good. Did you try dipping it in anti fungal stuff? well anyway good luck with it and hope some little guys come out of that leave soon.
Cheers Xavier
