Google confused me with capensis broad leaf being the same as typical. Is that true? I sowed a batch of capensis broad leaf and they certainly look a lot like typical. How about wide leaf? Much appreciated if experts here can clear up the confusion.
Thanks!

You can go on growsundews.com to get very good information on many D. types including D. Capensis and its various form.

This is what I sowed from capensis broad leaf seeds: This is the capensis typical I have: They look awfully similar to you ask me, but I'm no expert. Also, growsundews.com doesn't have a picture of broad leaf...

It does look a bit wider than typical.. but perhaps not true to the label. For your reference: 'Red', 'compact rosette' (or 'Wide'), type, 'Albino' 'Board Leaf' should look like 'Wide', where their main difference is that one has more hairy center than the other.

On casacdescarivores you can read that broad leaf is the typical form, just a different name. www.cascadecarnivores.com/product_info.php?products_id=100There seem to be different point of view on that, since growsundews.com describes the broad leaf as a different form than the typical. 🤔 Ok, I know what you're thinking : "Hey Sam, this just adds to the confusion." Yeah, you're right. Maybe some experienced grower can clarify that for you. Unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to do anything else than quote website I read from... Anyway, I wish you happy growing.

Hi Gloria,
I think that your "broad leaf" are from seeds I gave you out of some of my older stock in the fridge, is that correct? I can't be sure, but I purchased the original seeds the better part of a decade ago, and were from another hobbyist on the flytrapcare forums. They weren't from a major nursery, so it's possible that they could have been mislabeled by either the vendor, or the person that sold them the seeds, etc.

If they were mislabeled that's totally fine, still love them

Thanks for the pics! I also thought broad leaf would look more like wide leaf but I couldn't find a definitive answer on google (hence the question) So, do you have capensis wide leaf seeds for trade/sale?
