I definitely agree that donors of rarer seeds should absolutely be given more credits. As long as all donating members have a kegit chance to build up enough credit to get rarer seeds, I'm all for it. Also, I think that it is a good idea to have a small section of seeds that are available to seed donors only because it would encourage people to donate. I'm not saying that this should make up a huge portion of the seed bank, but there should be some kind of extra perk for donating.
Ok that's just my two cents and I'm off to practice folding paper for seeds LOL

Don't post here much but this is what i'm thinking about the donation site issue. It's not that i don't trust one member to keep all the seeds, but I really don't like that idea for a couple of reasons. The first issue is that it's not wise to have seed make multiple long distance journeys across our huge country, while postage is not a great issue, viability would surely be less than one simple journey directly to the recipient. the second thing is that the member who is keeping the seeds now has the added pressure of organization/proper seed storage/distribution etc. It makes things much harder for the member keeping the seeds, and mistakes are more likely to happen. Also, in the event that something goes wrong in storage, we're left with nothing. I'd much rather see the seed bank be kept in an open spreadsheet (excel?), managed by whoever takes on the job. Members could register what they have to offer/donations and whoever's managing the spreadsheet can just update it to show inventory/credits/donations. This way, anyone donating the seeds can just keep them and send them directly from the point of origin. we save the seeds a trip to an unnecessary donation site and make the managing much less complex. basically a virtual seedbank, with points all over Canada instead of a centralized site

A virtual seed bank, sort of like downloading a torrent file.
Interesting idea.
