Ok here I go again. I am curious to know how people here grow their averagae sundews. Do you grow them in a humidity controlled mini greenhouse or a table with the water filled tray method on a table under lights (or something like that) I am running out of room in my mini greenhouse and want to make better use of my 4ft lights. So I wanna get a feel for how everyone grows theirs. Even some pics would be great of set ups from even a far to get a good overall view of what you got going on. I grow mine with 2-18 inch florecent lights and 1 grow and show about 6-10 inches from the pots. I get good coloring and excelent dew in my mini greenhouse (humidity at 80-90%) this is an older pic but its still more or less the same. EDITED by mabs- fixed title

I grow mine at like 40-50% humidity or maybe even lower. its just sitting in a 8 inch pot. (however, I am thinking of selling off that big UNFLOWERING capensis ... yes guys...it doesn't flower ). For the easy sundews...they aren't particular as long as the media is nice and moist and it gets good light. thats all they seem to want.

From what I understand about Droseras, is that they don't need humidity. Most are bog plants, so the media is wet, so the immediate viscinity of the plant will be humid, but other than that, no more humidity is needed - is this correct? Excess humidity is actually bad for some, right? For non-dormant species, I only have D. capensis right now, but I just grow it sitting in maybe a 1/2 inch of water, with humidity averaging about 55-60%. They go outside for the summer, but in winter they are under a 1000W HPS bulb, about 3 1/2 feet from the bulb.

A pic would not look like much- I have basically a tray with two little desklamps over it, then a few planter boxes in my windowsills, nothing fancy at ALL (those who've seen it can sttest- Lloyd thinks I use some kind of magic to keep my plants alive and I kinda think he's right)

Mine just sit on my grow stand nothing fancy for humidity, they don't even sit that often in water, but get watered fairly frequently. Sib

I found some sundews picky: binata multifida extrema & marston dragon seemed to need higher humidity. Prolifera also and the petiollaris that I have. Others seem to do really well in medium to high humidity but don't seem to need it. Certainly aliciae, capensis and the temperate ones just need wet medium.
