New plants are slowly making their way into my terrarium set-up. New acquisition arriving this week! The tank is about 10 gal (20" across) with two 6500K LED bulbs lighting it. I try to keep about an inch or so of rainwater water in it all the time. I have a small fan which blows air across the ballast and into the tank. RH is usually between 65% - 75%. The lights are on a timer which I adjust biweekly by 15 minutes: right now, they're on for about 18 hours a day. Included in here so far: Cephalotus Dionaea 'B52' Drosera binata (tiny, bottom right corner w/ the VFT) Drosera capensis Sarracenia purpurea subsp. venosa 'All Red' Pinguicula x 'Weser (P. ehlerisae x P. moranensis) Pinguicula gigantea The Sarracenia is new as of this week! So I will have to figure out where to keep it for it's dormancy. I'm in love with the Ping Weser right now - the rose-coloured leaves are gorgeous! I will keep updating this thread as new plants arrive...

Your Ping Weser is so pretty! Did you get this one from carnivorousplantstore.com? I was thinking about buying one from them!

Ray - The fridge is a great idea! But I want to grow this species inside for now, since it's on the smaller size and does fit in the terrarium! Samantha - Yes I did! They're not expensive but I love the coloured leaves. And they become a good size too, from what I've read.

Awesome, I'll definitely get one in my next order from them!
I'm glad to hear that they get pretty big, so far I only have a few Ping Moranensis and they are still pretty tiny.

UPDATESo, in my CP-purchasing fervor, I maxed out the old fish tank I was using... so I bought a bigger one! This one is about 1 ft longer and 1/2 ft deeper than the previous. Naturally, I had to fill up all the new space! My collection is now pushing 40 plants or so... several Heli's, a couple different VFTs, and several 'dews. On the right you can see the seeds I've sown, which include D. nidiformis, D. regia, and Byblis liniflora - as of yesterday, I have about 20 regia seedlings. They're tiny but have bright green cotyledons, no true leaves yet! I also have my first CP flowers! My D. binata has opened a few flowers now. Not pictured, my D. capensis has two flower stalks! One in full bloom. It's amazing how quickly some of these plants can grow!

An exciting update today! I ordered Drosera regia seeds from an Aussie grower via eBay. They made it up here quickly and I sowed them on 17 July. I sowed in a 3 x 3 grid of two seeds per spot, 18 in 1:1 peat/sand, and 18 in LFSM. Here they are today! Quite sure every seed germinated and they all have their first true leaves. I feed them this morning using a the dust from some dried insects and a drop of water. Can't wait for them to grow up big and strong!

I noticed my first multi-forked leaf today on my little Drosera binata. This plant is quick grower! I can't wait for the forked forest of leaves that this sundew can grow into... (Sorry for the low-res smartphone image!)

Some Nepenthes updates! They're growing very well alongside my orchids under T5 lights. First, a pair of leaves have sprouted in the Nepenthes mirabilis 'Winged' seeds I sowed back on 10 July 2017. I'm hoping it's a Nepenthes seedling and not a sphagnum tag-along! Can anyone confirm? They're growing/sprouting (or not) SO slowly... My intermediate Nepenthes ampullaria is growing really well! Several new pitchers are opening up. I love how plump they are! And finally, my young Nepenthes naga (but could be N. bongso) has grown a rather large young pitcher! It seems quite happy and has probably doubled in size since I got it a couple months ago.

More updates! My Heliamphora seem to be quite content - my H. heterodoxa x minor has a new adult pitcher that's almost developed and I noticed another one this morning! The H. pulchella I received from a group order has recovered slowly from being mailed... but it has put up a new adult pitcher in my care (with a particularly vigorous Sarracenia purpurea venosa looming in the background)! My juvenile Ceph. follicularis 'German Giant' has grown it's first adult pitcher! Very exciting, no matter how small it is! And finally, my Drosera regia seedlings are growing quickly - they seem to prefer the LFS:perlite mix compared with the peat:sand potting media. The ones in LFS are about 1.5x to 2x the size of the peat seedlings.
