I live in Ontario and I have 2 Sarracenia Flava Vigorous Clones, and they have not filled out yet! I am new to growing carnivorous plants, does anyone know whats wrong? Is this normal?

Do you have a picture of your plants? That'll help people get a look at what's going on. Also, what are you growing your sarrs in? What kind of setup do you have for them? These guys need lots and lots of light to do well so either you've got to have a really good setup with lights or you can put them outside to get some direct sunlight.

I do not have any pictures, they are growing in half peat half sand. They are outside in direct light in pots.

By filled out you mean produce lots of pitcher? Your soil mix is fine no problems there, as long as the light isn't obstructed then your lighting conditions are great without pictures all I could say is that the plant is growing fine and later in the season it would fill out
also just to say even though sarracenia flavas are one of the fastest growing sarracenia species they are still relatively slow compared to garden plants.

I've found that with newly planted Sarracenia you won't get a whole lot out of them in the first year. Considering flava's put their best show on in the spring time, you won't get a considerable flush until next year. But you'll still get some pitchers coming up throughout the season!

My first Sarracenia were acquired last spring and they were all pretty sluggish and small with only two flowers for the entire group of about 15 species. This year they are already much more prominent and I have many producing flowers. Be patient, keep them happy and they will get more impressive every year it seems!

Another one opened up today its the tallest, only about five inches its very skinny, will it fill out? Is it normal for them to be skinny and plain green for the first season? The store that I got them from shows them big and fat with red veining.

usually after a transplant the first few pitcher would be smaller than the original and the veining would be less pronounced, But it is better to show s picture for us to understand what is happening to your plant.
