"Is this common?" I would like to know as well.
What is the device on the wall behind?

Really cool flowers! That's a rain sensor, I think. It detects if there is any water droplets on it.

"Is this common?" I would like to know as well. What is the device on the wall behind? The sensor detects water levels. When I use tray watering it will turn the water on to fill up the tray when it evaporates. My greenhouse is controlled by an Arduino. Misters turn on when humidity drops, fans come on when it gets too hot, drip watering turns on when Nepenthes in hanging baskets get too dry. I am re-doing the greenhouse trying to hook up a solar panel.
