Hey all, My friend recently gave me a small cutting of one of his pitcher plants, but when he received he didn't get the name of it. I was hoping that someone could potentially ID this plant for me. I'm thinking N. naga or something along those lines, but it's just a guess. Hopefully someone can confirm or tell me I'm completely wrong. I know these aren't the best pictures but its all I got. Thanks in advance, Robert

Hello. Beautiful plant, looks a lot like Nepenthes lingulata to me.

I would guess N. izumiae since I don't see lingulata's characteristic lid appendage.

I've seen some lingulata grow to a fairly decent size before putting out the appendage, plus the pitchers can be deformed or underdeveloped when the plant is in recovery or adapting to new conditions. It could still be izumiae, but the lamina size and overall traits of the pitcher also look quite a bit like some of my lingulata. It would help to know the source of the cuttings as well.

Gonna go for it and say I feel this is without a doubt 100% N.lingulata. Still too little to be producing a distinct tongue but it will . It looks identical to one I grow that I received from bonfield.

I will defer to your guys' judgment then as I have not personally grown either plant. It's quite a nice acquisition either way!
