A friend of mine was recently in Hong Kong and came across some neps while hiking in one of the parks there. They sent me some photos, I thought I'd share. I don't know what kind they are, I didn't know Hong Kong had any native neps! Though, I suppose they could be cultivated, they are right along a trail.

Didn't expect to see them in the wild! I've seen quite a few stalls/carts selling big pots of neps though, when I visited a few years ago.

I think you're right edwards7. After a quick google, N. mirabilis seems to be the native species to Hong Kong. I was pretty surprised, I think Hong Kong is one of the last places I expected CPs to be growing out in the wild. It's like spotting sars in NYC or something.
