I noticed these weird little bulby looking things today. What are they? Some sort of hitch hiker plant? Should I pull them out?

...that's the moss, blooming I think. You can pull them out, they have taken over a bunch of my Heli pots.

Yes I think it is moss spores. If you don't want it to spread pull it out, If you want it to spread leave it or let them turn brown, pull with tweezers and put in a different pot.

Yep that's what they are if you poke them you might see the spores fly everywhere almost like dust. That's how the moss spreads.

Thanks everyone! Hmm... I do like the moss but I don't want it to spread if it'll harm my plants. Is it easy to keep under control if I do leave it alone?

I haven't done it because I don't have any moss but you could check out Willys post about carpet moss

I thought each one was 1 spore, not 100'ds of spores!

The type that I liked the most spread with 'modified leafs' instead of those spore stalks I have seen some moss stalks that dance when you mist them, it's very neat. Moss usually don't harm your plants except they might overgrow your seedlings. Cheers, Willy

I thought each one was 1 spore, not 100'ds of spores! I did too until a few weeks ago when I was in the backyard looking for little shrubs to plant in a little terrarium I poked a spore pod and a big cloud of dust flew in my face XD
