Totally normal as everyone said. When I got my first ant plant, I thought it had scale. I was tricked by the plant and gave morphman a mini-heart attack.

I was wondering if mine will do that too. I was hoping not but I guess all the Lecanopteris produce scale too like Hydnophytums.

All the ant plants I grow produce fake scale to some degree or another
Some are ridiculous some not so much.
It's a cool characteristic IMO.
Kind of makes me wonder if an ant plant can get legitimate scale and if so will it harm the plants growth like all other plants that get munched on by those nasty little things
