I've looked at the previous threads for keeping Sarrecenia dormant but still not sure which one would be best with the options I have.
Right now I have three:
1) place in the cold room (not sure of the temperature as I just took possession of the house today) I think it's around 10-12C 2) place in a cooler at the nursery I am currently working at, which stays at a constant -3C 3) Which I'm not too keen on, placing in my garage which isn't heated and not too sure how cold it gets. We get down to around -25C.
I would like to place them in the cold room, but I'm afraid that mould will set in unless I have constant air circulation. The cooler would be the easiest but would -3C be too cold? also these two options would have no sunlight whatsoever. The garage would be a gamble unless I put a heater in there with fans, but I do not have the cash to invest in that; but maybe next year.
Any idea's as to what the best option would be?

I keep my sarr in a unheated garage. Here, we often get -25C and even worst in Winter and the beer I keep in the garage only froze once in over 15 years so usually, even if the garage is unheated, the temperature stay near 0. I'm talking about a garage, not a carport. I drain the water from the pots and put them in a styrofoam box to assure complete darkness and prevent temperature fluctuation. I open the box a few times over the Winter to check the moisture of the media and see if there's any aphids. No casualty last year for 20-25 sarr. So that would be my recommandation.

I keep mine in an attached garage. It was OK for years unheated as it usually stayed ~-3 to +3°C. But then we had a frigid winter with multiple weeks of below -10°C which caused a lot of rhizome die-back. Now I have a garage space heater 600/900/1500 W and a low temperature thermostat to keep the garage at 32-33°F. I had very little rhizome damage this year. Most times it was on 600 but for colder spells, I needed the 900. Usually it only went on at night when power is cheap. It didn't cause a noticeable blip in my power bill.
It's very dim in there which helps with dormancy but is bad for mould if it goes above 5°C.
The cold room seems too warm.
The -3°C room would probably be good too.

Llody, do you think putting sarr in the fridge (4°C) is good enough? or should I put it in the freezer? (0°C)

If you put them in the fridge, you will also have to put them in a container or ziplock ... The RH in the fridge is too low. Lost a nice mature plant to that point.

Never put plants in the freezer! It's way below freezing and you'll get mushed plants.

Ok, I might try half in the garage and half in the cooler and see which ones come out better in the spring time!
