so I recently transplanted my Venus flytrap and since then all the new growth that starts coming up dies right befor it starts forming a trap :/ does anyone know what the broken might be? I'm growing it in 1:1 peat and perlite and it gets full sun on a south faceing window.

It might just be due to changes in its conditions.. Should be fine once it adapts

Could you get a pic? It could be mites or another pest.

Sorry, I can't seem to get pictures to work for me :/ I've tried all the websites people suggest and It won't work for me. Although I'm almost 100% positive because I check all the time.

...I agree with Devon, pics are always helpful when trying to determine or ascertain cause of future death. Did you really mess with the roots when you repotted? I have found that Flytraps really don't like that. Even though they usually recover, it really sets them back. I have never had a problem with pests (knock on wood!) so I can't comment on that. Good luck.

PS - I wasn't able to post pics either but after sending one in a PM, I suddenly could!

The only thing I did with the roots was untangled them from the spagnum that they came in, maybe I was to rough by accident? Thanks for the help veryone I do have pictures on my Instagram account if you guys want to see it. My account is Tarantula_Lover_01

...that's exactly what I meant, they don't like that! Is it one of those typicals from the grocery store? I bought one for my son last week (he named it Red), put the thing in my mix without removing the LFS and it's doing fine. Any amount of root disturbance is too much, don't do it unless you absolutely have to. My two cents.

Hope it bounces back for you! Just got my first 3 today from the grocery store & they look good, just cramped in the tiny pots. Scouring everyone's posts for info on repotting & media

So I'm pretty sure that I'm going to lose all the growth on this fly trap, and I guess I'm ok with it as long as it all grows back. Will it recover?

Sadly I haven't seen any new growth since my last post and all the new sprouts are now dead, just hoping it bounces back

Hi Ben, that doesn't look so well Maybe you want to try spraying a 1:3 3% H2O2 solution lightly on the soil to kill some fungus; as well as put a little dome over the plant to increase the humidity; also increase the amount of light for the VFT. Might be too late to save it but still worth trying. Best wishes
