Greetings!
I had my VFT in dormancy either in my garage or the basement, keeping the good thing in the right temperature range and alive from December until it appears one week ago. Suddenly all the hitherto green leaves turned brown. It might have something to do with watering, as in the saucer under the pot there was water standing and would not get absorbed as it did before.
My two questions: Can a cause be pinpointed to prevent it in the future? Is there ANY hope of it coming back?
Thanks!

Moist soil but not saturated or sitting in water. On the dark side. Temperatures 0 to 3°C. Air flow, if above 5°C.
This is from my experience. Others may be more successful with different conditions.
The plants may survive, particularly if you take the "bulbs" out and keep them in moist LFS in the above conditions.

Thank you for the quick response.
Looks like I messed up with the water at the end at let it stand for too long.
When looking through the soil, I did not find any bulbs, only some root strands. So I guess the poor thing is dead dead, eh?

...if you dug it up and found no bulb/rhizome, it probably rotted away and the plant is history. I don't think having the pot sitting in water during dormancy is a good call. I've got hundreds of dormant Flytraps, in pots, just sitting on tables in my basement 'Green Room' eagerly awaiting Spring. I have only just slightly watered them once since I brought them in around November, about a month ago. They will not get watered again until they come out. Knock on wood, they look just fine while asleep. I totally agree with Lloyd's post. Is Spring here yet???, it's frickin' snowing outside again........NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Happy Growing!

After emptying the pot to look for roots, I just mixed it all back together and put it next to the window. Now the below thing happened. Whatever it is, it's unique to this pot.
