I recently got an amaryllis but there is a spot on the flower stalk that looks like it's dying? Has anyone seen this before?

Keep the soil barely moist, support the stalk and spray the spot with a fungicide.

Hi Lloyd thanks for the response. Any recommendation on which fungicide to use?

Easiest would be a sulphur based one. Or I could send you some No-Damp.

How Lloyd thanks for the offer but I think I'll go pickup some fungicide tonight as the spot is getting bigger pretty quick!

For next time- if The flowers are opening (& soon after stalk is cut off) you can put a paper towel on top of soil- move soil from near the rot-spot and avoid cost of fungicide.
Water much, much less & if/when you replant bulb next year- add 50% perlite to a soiless (seed starter mix) medium to prevent rot again.

Hi thanks for the info! The fungicide seems to have stopped the rot and I'm keeping the soul barely moist as Lloyd suggested. It doesn't seem to have slowed down the flowers tho!

Bravo. Beautiful. Now cease and desist watering for some time If you want to re-use them and don't know how- let me know.
