Are you using a driver or just a battery with a resistor? Are you running the LED's below 1W? I guess if you just ran them for a brief time they might not need a heat sink.

Hi Lloyd, don't worry I play with LEDs all the time, I know how to safely operate them. For these ones they are drawing only half the power since in don't need that extreme brightness, they are connected to the battery and resistor, and they won't be on for more than a minute. The temperature only gets up to 40c after one minute, which is fine

Great job. I too mess around with LEDs, but mostly in automotive applications. You take excellent photos. I like how the light brightens up the centre of the flower.
