Proboards offers a limited amount of free image storage for each account. We have reached our limit.
In order to post a photo it has to be hosted on another site. There are lots of image hosting sites available. Tinypic, Photobucket, Flickr, etc.
1. Size your image appropriately and save it as a JPG 2. Upload your photo to the Image host 3. Copy the code that the site provides for the image location. It should look something like this "http://tinypic/32er4/102e.jpg". Highlight the text and right click "Copy" or "CTRL C" at the same time. 4. Click on the photo icon in the "Create Thread" form. 5. Post your image location from step 3 into the "Image URL" box that appears. Right click "Paste" or "CTRL V" 6. Preview your post to see that it has worked correctly. 7. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Some tips for posting via photobucket:go to: secure.photobucket.com/login?returnUrl=/upload you can signup for a new account, then login if you don't have an account. once logged in, go to "upload" (on top), and then you will see this: then just press choose photos, and upload the desired photos from computer Finally, when you want to post it on a reply, you can just click the link next to IMG, and paste it on your post! Cheers

If you have a smart phone the Taptalk app makes uploading pictures super easy.

...I was going to post this in the 'Forum Name Change' thread but it seems to be closed. While we're changing the name and all, can we do something with the posting pics issue? I know this has been brought up in the past but I feel it should be re-addressed. I find it VERY tedious to have to use photo sharing sites in order to be able to post pics here. I dread having to fight with Flickr, Photobucket, etc every time I want to enter a Plant of the Month. It took me all night and most of the morning to upload two pics onto Photobucket just so I could enter a plant (I was late, my entry should be disqualified) for February. How expensive is memory, can we please look into this again?

...thanks for the like Cole, it seems that in today's society, convenience has become too tedious and time consuming resulting in a collapse onto itself! Can we bring things back to simpler, less convenient times, when everything took LESS time?

Social media has added layers of stultifying obligations and habits to indulge an ever-growing population of narcissists and attention-wh---s(I don't care what your lunch looked like, lol). Don't get me wrong, it has a few redeeming qualities, as demonstrated in this forum, but the situation is only going to get worse as "datageddon" sets in.

...let's get the photo thing changed. I think the growers that are serious about growing (and ones that value what we have here) would be willing to pay the few bucks a year to be able to post their pics here, and not have to be harassed by social media tactics and all of the convenience thereof. The ones that aren't...well, nobody's interested in their dead D. Spatulata pics anyway. To the Powers that Be, maybe we should have a vote on this?

But would that cost be transferred to everyone, including new members? A two-tier image-posting system could work, but the additional service/cost should only be for those who want it.

Just to add that if you use taptalk app on mobile phones, the photo upload function works charmingly; it's much less work than uploading to another hosting site and such on computer.

Proboards offers a few plans for upgraded storage starting at $3 a month. Someone would need to take ownership of that and pay each and every month. And when the $3/month plan gets filled, you have to go the the $6 plan, then $9 and so on.
There is so much free and easy personal storage available now that I can't see that paying for it is the way to go. You don't have to use a photo sharing site. Google and Microsoft both give 15GB of personal free storage and I think Apple gives 10Gb. You can set up a CP photos folder there and link to images with a couple of clicks. And you can access the storage from your PC, phone, iPad or whatever.
