Left my young sundews outside and forgot about them. Next morning they were on the ground and peat moss everywhere.
I was wondering how some of you deal with squirrels/raccoons?

Squirrels hate black VHS tape hung around the property. 1'-1.5' strips.
Raccoons... trap, hose down and release right where you catch them, chase after them a bit too. Thing is you'll have to continually do this as others move in.
Other than that a good ole electric fence with a mild shock works wonders.

For plants and live mosses that won't be planted outside I use a Lee Valley popup screen tent. So far squirrels have stayed out and I'm not getting weeds in pots beyond those included when they were shipped. For hardy bulbs I'm resorting to hardware cloth cages/teepees until the ground freezes.

Thanks for your replies. Looks like I'll be hunting for raccoon tonight with my hose :-)

Scare the living crap of it so it doesn't return. Thats the premise of the electric fence but I'm poor so trap and hose it is for me.

Update: After a couple of days with the raccoons they stopped going onto my porch (but still in the area). The only problem is squirrels but they seem to have stopped burying seeds into my small pots haha maybe they lost too many seeds

Good! if they come back try hot pepper powder... gives them a slight tingly feeling on the feet.
