Terrariums are reasonable when plants will do badly in your house or outside. Temperate plants will do very well outside in Canada. So get them outside.

My VFT fell apart literally with roots and leaves falling off it so I managed to get leaves with white ends so I planted them in moist sphagnum like leaf cuttings so in a couple of months I hope to see baby plants I was wondering is the white tip planted enough or did I need to get a root or apiece of the Rhizome? Today its raining so the media is getting a good rinse

Anything I can keep outside so yes D Adelae D. adelae is actually a plant that will do very well in a closed coolish terrarium in bright light but no sunlight.

It will die in sunlight. Light shade should be okay.

How big does it get? how long to get to that size?

It grows to size of your hand palm or bigger. Mature time is around a year from baby to adult (heavily depends on food captured and soil space).

2 Corinthians 9:6 - But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Dennis: you tend to overthink these things and spend a lot of time inventing new techniques of CP growing. Verily, I say unto thee, stick with the basics. "Temperate" means different things on different continents. The only sundew you can grow outside in Zone 3 is D. rotundifolia. If you want to grow carnivorous plants outside, a simple bog will be your best bet. Dig a pit 12-18" deep. Line it with plastic. Fill it with peat. Plant hardy CPs like S. purpurea and D. rotundifolia. Enjoy. If it all works out, try some slightly more southern sarrs and mulch heavily. Attempting a 4 season terrarium in NFLD will only end in sorrow.
