Someone is sending me some VFT flowers so i can try and root them. They are coming from the US. Will there be any problems with this?

If you get caught you will have some problems. You do need a phytosanitary certificate for cut flowers, it's pretty much the exact same risk as importing plants without a permit. It is possible the rules have changed but I'm fairly sure they haven't.
My suggestions would be to pass on this opportunity. You'll be taking a risk for something that is quite difficult to do without TC.

I agree with Justin. There's a reason why USA sellers won't ship out plants or parts of plants out of USA (including to Canada). In addition, VFT flower stalk is much harder to sprout than Sundew flower stalk.

Dang, was hoping it would be ok. Wanted to try some sort of cuttings while i wait for my seeds to germinate. He was just going to throw them in the compost anyways so the price was right.

I thought cut flowers didn't need permits.

...gerry, this sounds to me like a crazy venture! Importing VFT flower stalks from the US with hopes of rooting them??? Nuts!, they will never pass customs and even if they did there is no guarantee they would root. Here's what you should try, go to your local garden centre, buy a Flytrap for 5 bucks (they are probably all flowering now) and try to root your own. Apropo this, I just found a container of cut flower stalks that I threw in some LFS months ago that I forgot about. There are two that have popped and all of the cut stalks were from Flytraps I got from the garden centre just down the road. Risk not worth the reward, good luck!
EDIT - ...if you can't find a growing Flytrap where you are, I would be willing to send you one or two just to prevent you from trying what you've suggested. Cheers!
