I just bought a chiller & the previous owner was using it for a saltwater tank is it safe to use fir my Dars ? & is there a way to clean it so it will be safe, I know it's titanium so I won't carode, is there a way to test if salt is present in the water ?

Use a TDS meter or one of those soil moisture measuring devices to check for dissolved salts.

Ok I have a TDS meter I didn't think that was for salt ? The guy said he did a vinager purge to clean it out !! So if the TDS a come back 0 that means it's safe ? So if it comes bacsk .0 then that means there's no salt either ?

stick the device in distilled water, stir the water every now and then for a few hours and measure the TDS of the water. If the device is clean, the TDS should be close to zero (since it's titanium)

Ok how long should I flood the tray if it's clean & / how far up the pot should I flood ?

Thanks Lloyd I got it up & running TDS 15 I would like it a little lower but ...... I haven't made a flood box yet I just have the cold water 10'C water circulating in the Rez I still need the pieces I'm gonna use a toat box to flood but I need the pices to flood do you know what the pieces are called ? So I con get them
do you think they'll be ok if I water them from the top with the cold water couple times a day ?

TDS 15 means the device is pretty clean of salts. If it's titanium, the structure shouldn't leach metal into the water.
