I'm pretty chuffed, I've been hatching d. intermedia, anglica, and rotundifolia in the hopes that I could get some sundews that would survive outside over our unpredicatable Toronto winters. In theory all the seeds come from varieties that are hardy to zone 6 or lower. I am planning on testing with a few specimens this year. I put some d. intermedia seeds into cold strat on May 1, and took them out after 4 weeks with some sarr seeds that I got from ICPS. At any rate they germinated on June 9th, and now I see a flower stalk on this little dew (it's about 1" in diameter). This may be an ordinary event, but I'm quite excited to see a flower stalk after such a short time.

Thanks, that's a great compliment from such an accomplished grower. I have been experimenting with misted fertilizer and this is the result.

Nice d.intermedia, i too have some drosera anglica put in peat on may and one of the seedling has a flower stalk but made only one flower. I think that if you let them outside you wont need to put fertilizer because they already catch a lot of gnat.

Filiformis and the local intermedia are definitely hardy for Toronto. Mine did very well even if they were frozen solid (eventually the Sarr's shaded them out). Intermedia will flower at that size.
