Found this little dude growing next to my burgundy black. It appears to have little dewey tentacles on the leaf margins, the leaves themselves having a surface that looks more like a ping than a drosera. The leaves are not succulent like most drosera, they are thin and papery, when this first started growing i thought it was probably a lichen. Now its looking like a ping-sundew. Anyways I would love to know what it is or will grow into. I love "bonus plants" sometimes they are weeds, sometimes they turn out to be quite interesting.

You will probably have to wait a couple weeks. Very hard to say at this stage. I hope you will have a nice little plant

I hope so too. The plant is probably about 12mm in diameter at present.

Looks a lot like a poppy seedling, but like maiden said, there's no telling until it gets a bit bigger. I've had some interesting ferns grow from plants I've received from other growers. And also this annoying grass-like thing that took me forever to eradicate.

I assumed the grass like plant that comes up from the peat/perlite or LFS was a grass.

Ping-Drosera cross or maybe a experiment done in TC?

I don't think pings and drosera are genetically similar enough to cross. I think even among drosera there are varying numbers of chromosomes. It's probably a common species but just don't recognize it as a juvenile

You'd have better luck cross breeding an elephant with a manatees then a ping and a drosera. I believe.

@ Lucst
You should join another forum that are just as rude to people who do not fully understand a concept or makes a comment that seems trivial to you.
