Congrats on your germination success AV! Mine are going to come out of cold strat this coming week. Now I just have to get their pots ready for their arrival. Best of luck with your seedlings! dvg ...Thank You, upon closer inspection, it appears that every single visible seed has sprouted! I'm really pleasantly surprised, I thought I lost the whole batch when I opened the paper bag and saw the media washed away. The pic I posted is crappy/blurry, will post a better one in a couple of weeks when my macro photography equipment arrives from Hong Kong. Good luck with yours too! Cheers!

Good to see that they didn't wash away and instead decided to give you excellent germination rates.
Mine are going into their individual clay pots today and will be under lights tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing your continued updates with this spectacular species.

...here's an update of my 'botched batch' of Darlingtonia seeds. They actually seem to be doing quite well and are growing MUCH faster than all of my other CP seedlings.....time will tell...

Hi Amanitovirosa - They are looking good for their age. Seems like you are doing well with them - especially for a "botched batch"!

...Thanks, but I'm actually not doing anything with them, I think they just want to live...how long do you guys think I should wait before I transplant these??? I don't have much experience with Cobras, do their roots go deep? Since most of my media washed away, what ever is left is very shallow. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Amanitovirosa, how are your seedlings doing? What media did you stratify your seeds in? You get a gold star for germination.

You don't have to strat Darlingtonia seeds, there has been proof that strat doesn't increase germination. Save the time and the risk of mold

H2O, would you just sow the seeds straight into NZ moss, cover with humidity dome, and set under lights? Yahoo. Being able to sow directly, means you can start right away checking the seed pot to see if anything has germinated.

...Gold Star??? Thank You very much! I just got lucky. I must have gotten really viable seeds. The media I used was 50/50 peat moss and a really fine silica sand, which I'm not using anymore because it's a pain in the ass to wash. I've switched to the coarse stuff, #3. I did stratify the batch in my shed during the brutal winter we had this year, close to 2 months I think it was (I do have it documented so I can tell you exactly if you'd like to know, don't have the paperwork in front of me right now). They are doing well. They're in my basement in a cool grow chamber along with my Cephs. Around 18-21 degrees Celsius and humidity at approx. 90%. I'm still not sure if I should replant them now or wait. Thank You for the compliment but honestly, I really had very little to do with the germination. It was the Cobras, they just wanted to live. Here's a pic I just took. Happy Growing! Attachments:
