Wow fantastic plants! Absolutely stellar growing Avery. All of your seed grown Neps are looking awesome! All have nice characteristics already, the unknown seed grown plant in the last pic looks quite jamabanee to me. Also your villosa is looking great, I think it might be teething

Thanks, everyone! I'm pretty happy with how everything has been growing. It looks like my hamata and jacquelineae are making full recoveries also! Two species that I feel lucky to grow.

I do feed with coffee, and I give all the pitchers some of a FDBW/fish food concoction I made. I'm really interested in purchasing some Maxsea fertilizer, just haven't taken the plunge yet.

Pretty cool !! I love the shelf you made in the front left or how ever side you look at it I'm jealous, iv been sitting here staring at my 55 gallon debating on if I should take the plunge into terrarium land !! I wish I had a friend who lives were I do or close to me that has the same interest in CP's like I do to give me a helping hand. I was wondering about the 2 fans I see in there, are they just circulating the air inside the tank or are they blowing air out ?

I was wondering about the 2 fans I see in there, are they just circulating the air inside the tank or are they blowing air out ? There are three fans circulating air inside of the nearly sealed terrarium. There is an aquarium aerator bubbling in the bottom 2" of water in the terrarium- bringing in fresh air and keeping the water from going stagnant. On top the of the water there is plastic grating which all of the moss and pots sit on top of. Here's a little picture update: Nepenthes ventricosa: NOID seed grown Nepenthes: Nepenthes jamban: Nepenthes villosa Tambuyukon- growing surprisingly quickly: Utricularia sandersonii: Heliamphora pulchella: Nepenthes tenuis: Not in my plant terrarium, but thought I would share anyways- another one of my pastimes, rearing strange and exotic arachnids, like this lightning fast Malaysian huntsman spider, Heteropoda lunula: Thanks for looking.

Thanks!
Varun, how is your pulchella doing? I have no idea what stage of the game mine should be at, but they seem to be growing fine?! Maiden, what do you think? Ha.
Guy, yeah, nice to finally have an (almost) definitive ID on the seedlings. I saw someone selling a cluster of three jamban seedlings online, and I'm almost positive they came from the same seed set. Nearly identical size and features.
Has anyone experimented with treating their Nepenthes like bonsai? I saw a really neat picture once of a Nepenthes bonsai and I'm considering treating mine as such = heaving pruning and encouraging basal growth... I wonder how a species such as inermis or dubia would respond to chopping the growth tip off once it gets to a certain height? My Nepenthes 'viking' hardly seems to notice and sends out tons of basal growth.

Your plants are great! The pulchella clump is very healthy and well grown :-) IMHO the first adult pitcher is around the corner. Well done, as always :-)

When a nep is healthy, I find you can prune away as long as you leave a few leaves on whatever parts you want to keep growing.

Hello everyone, I've recently upgraded my highland terrarium. I added some quality lighting, a misting system, a cooling system, and a bit of extra head room. I'm going to wait to post about that- because springs just starting, and the summer heat will determine if the system is any good or not. Plus I think it'll look nicer once everything has settled in. In the meantime here are a few plants: Seed grown Nepenthes izumiae - I sent a bunch of these out. It's looking like they're the real deal, but time will tell - Nepenthes aristolochioides - Nepenthes hamata - Seed grown Nepenthes villosa - Seed grown Nepenthes jamban - Utricularia calycifida -
