Nice plants Drew!
If you don't find any female plant at this time, you could also try to freeze the pollen. It works for me for ping pollen.

Awesome Drew! Did you try posting on pitcherplant boards?
You may have some difficulty getting pollen to peeps in America, as pollen imports are prohibited under American phyto laws.
Perhaps try posting on CPUK also. There are many skilled Nep growers, and diatas is an interesting species for hybrid potential so you may be able to get an interesting female.
If, you have extra pollen, would it be possible for you to send me a bit to test viability and pollen tube growth? Sadly I don't have any female neps in flower at the moment (or any neps in flower at all...) But I would very much like to see if it is possible to grow Nep pollen tubes, and test viability a bit. But only if you have extra left over after sending it to people who can actually make seeds...

Thanks Gabriel! I havent posted on any other boards yet, was hoping to keep it in Canada. If I get no responses here I will post on a few other boards.
I can definitely send you some pollen though, I'll make sure I set some aside for you.

Onions apparently. This technique worked for Av with Heli pollen, so I imagine it will work with Nepenthes. www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/indexmag.html?http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/artdec99/jgpollen.htmlIf it does work, I'll arrange some kind of study to establish how long pollen can last in a fridge or freezer. I was gonna do it with drosera pollen, but I can't collect the pollen because I don't have small enough tweezers at the moment. I figure if I can find out how long pollen can last in a fridge or freezer, it could be a big help to those making hybrids and pure species seed (especially from pure species for conservation purposes.)

I have a N. x (ventricosa x sibuyanensis) from EP blooming and it appears to be a female. Is anyone interested in making some Nepenthes seeds? dvg

If you're interested in N. diatas pollen I would be very interested. The only interest I have had is outside of Canada.

That sounds good to me Drew. I had a quick peek at CP Photofinder and didn't see that cross being made there. PM sent. dvg
