You can really save money on books by scouring the internet. You can never tell which place will have the best price (always including S&H). We all know to try Indigo. Amazon.ca & Amazon.com are separate and you have o check both to compare prices. Bookcloseouts.com is pretty cheap. Abebooks is good for odds & ends. Alibris is also occasionally useful. Then there are all of the many specialty book dealers that show up on a google search. I must have used a dozen of these for certain oddball topics or foreign books.
