Amazing plants and photos!
The only pygmy I grow is D. Pygmaea green, and it tends to look like crap... Yours are much nicer!

Hi Devon - As always, I am utterly jealous of your pygmies. Some of mine are blooming, but they still look sickly. I hope it's not their last hurrah. Someday, I'll have pygmies like yours, until then I'll live vicariously though your pictures. Thanks!

Haha, thanks Apop! It's been a while since I updated this thread. A some of my pygmies have declined and now look very bad, probably due to the heat from the cfls or something. If I get gemmae some day I'll grow the ones that didn't do well under the cfls under the other lights. On the other hand, some plants did extremely well in the cfl set up. Some of them are flowering again and for the first time I have got Drosera scorpioides to flower! Here is also Drosera roseana I think what triggered them to flower was the the cold air coming from my slightly open window and the shortened photoperiod. I also had to take away one of the lamps for a couple of week so I could use it for something else. So now I know that a combination of less light and colder temps will help trigger flowering I guess. Lol. Cheers!

Actually it's just my 60mm nikkor. The Zeiss can't get that close. Thanks!

Really nice shots Devon !
I'm building a nice pygmies tray. They are going well.
Did you give yours a drought period ?

Nice! What species do you have?
I try to keep the tray they're in filled with a little bit of water, so not really. I suppose that giving them a drought period might trigger gemmae production, right?

Hi Devon - Looking good. I was able to get gammae off of all of my species except the one that is the most haggard. Some only produced enough to replace the ones that dies over the summer, but that keep me in the black for my pygmy dews for now. Good luck with yours, and keep us posted.

I grow these one : D. Callistos D. Citrana D. Grievi D. Minata (probably dead ) D. Nitidula subsp. allantostigma * D. Nitidula x Pulchella * D. occidentalis subsp. australis * D. Omissa * D. Oreopodion D. Platystigma D. Pulchella D. Scorpioides (white flowers) D. Silvicola D. Spilos I was asking about the draught period because of what I read on this site. encyclo.free.fr/pages/terrapyg.htm It is in French but takes Carnivorous Plants of Australia Vol 2 by Allen Lowrie as a reference. The first column in the table is about pygmies that supposedly should have a drought dormancy. That why I asked. But since, I read elsewhere that we should not let the pygmies go into dormancy if we can avoid it so, always a little water (perhaps less in summer) and temp below 90. I'll try that.
