Hey everyone, A while back Lloyd gave away a ton of TC'ed German Giants and I haven't seen anyone post their plant yet. Mine has many growth points and has just started to put out adult pitchers. I noticed that one of the growth points that started had variegated leaves but thought it might just be TC damage. This is the first carnivorous leaf it put out and its deff different, I hope it stays this way. Second adult pitcher off of a different growth point, shows that its getting plenty of light. With all of the other Cephs.

Neato. If you could get a whole plant that colour you could be a Ceph millionaire! Mine is putting out 3/4" pitchers. They're a bit paler than the regular Cephs but nothing like yours.

Hal, you'll have to show some pictures sometime. Is anyone else's putting out adult pitchers yet?
Devon and Shoggoths, I grow my Cephs in my basement the humidity isn't good and the air duct runs few feet away so I really don't think humidity plays much of a role. They're about 1 foot away from 6 4'T5HO for 12-14 hours a day. I personally find the key to growing them is to use larger tall pots and to make sure your plants don't outgrow their container, combined with watering just a little but often. The tray they are in has holes in the sides so the water level never reaches more then ~1cm, I fill it up and then once it dries out I leave it for 2 or 3 days before filling it up again. I find the possibility of rot is eliminated by using small amounts of water with tall pots. I can't take credit for my mix though, its curlingguy's and he uses 1:1:1 Peat,Perlite,16 Grit Silica Sand. I just added a layer of pure Silica to stop anything else from growing.

Your GG cephs are doing much better than mine, though I'm hoping to catch up, lol. To avoid some dampness/rot problems, I've created a mound in the center of my containers so that the crown is always elevated above the lower soil levels at the edges. Has anyone else considered trying a vertical ceph setup?

Here's my Ceph tank - it's a 5 gallon tank with a bit of water in the bottom for humidity. The plants are all in plastic cups - no drainage and I water them a little about once a week. Some of them are outgrowing the cups - time to repot. This is one of my larger regular cephs. Pitchers are about 2cm This is the German Giant. The pitchers are about 1cm.
