I was thinking about trying another terrarium jar on the windowsill. It faces north but it’s a bow window so it should qualify as “bright shade”. My wife keeps the heat too high in the winter and in the summer we only occasionally use a window A/C in another room, so maybe a lowland would be best. Looking thru the neps in Savage Garden I see n. ampullaria could be the best bet, the climbing stems can be easily cut back and it pitchers well in shade. I hope it stays small enough for the 2 gal cookie jar. Any other ideas or suggestions?

Hmm..... There is one easy lowlander. Its an absolutely beautiful plant: N.campanulata. You can probably ask Jack at Hawaiian botanicals to bring one in for you on their next BE order. Its a lowlander...with just beautiful pitchers and a very compact nep.

well...campanulata is a very easy nep. I don't know what amoutn of light is bright shade and from my experience, neps have a threshold below which they don't pitcher in low light. I found this the harsh way with some neps not pitchering for over an yr under low conditions, suddenly perking up given better light.
ALso.... it grows on the limestone outcrops in borneo out in bright open sun. Neps take quite a pounding and still thrive in the wild. So I would guess it should still do ok. But obviously there is no way to know exactly without trying it.
