Move over Spiderman. You're not the only spidey that spins giant webs. Darwin's Bark Spider, a newly discovered spider in Madagascar, makes the world's largest orb web and places it over rivers and other bodies of water. In order to do so these spiders weave anchoring lines up to 82 feet long.(25m) Their webs are also made out of the strongest biomaterial known to date. news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_9001000/9001866.stmNow that's some webslinger! dvg

Doug that's an amazing spider photo. I couldn't resist using it as the background pic. Any idea what species of spider it is? When my wife jumps out of her skirt when the computer starts up, I could at least let her know too. Or even walk backwards, slowly and without blinking, yet not showing fear, eh DVG?? Yeah, just back away from the crazy web of entangled flies, lest you too become caught up in that sticky mess. Haha, that's probably what a normal, sane person would do, but I've always been fascinated with all things creepy-crawly, so I'd no doubt be looking for the spider that made that monstrosity of a web. ;D dvg

Just tell her it was BIG and HAIRY and FAST ;D:D Haha, She was none too impressed. Her response: "NO! NO! Take it off. Take it off NOW! A spider that SIZE doesn't do anything for me". It was good for the entertainment value though. haha dvg
