Darwin's Bark Spider

Move over Spiderman. You're not the only spidey that spins giant webs.

Darwin's Bark Spider, a newly discovered spider in Madagascar, makes the world's largest orb web and places it over rivers and other bodies of water. In order to do so these spiders weave anchoring lines up to 82 feet long.(25m)

Their webs are also made out of the strongest biomaterial known to date.

creepy but impressive hehe. we have some funky spiders in the bush here that do simular thing on a smaller scale, but still larger then average. their abdomens look like thorns

Yeah, some of those funky bush spiders can make some mighty creepy lookin' webs...creepy enough to make you want to turn around and walk the other way.

Yeah, just back away from the crazy web of entangled flies, lest you too become caught up in that sticky mess.

Haha, that's probably what a normal, sane person would do, but I've always been fascinated with all things creepy-crawly, so I'd no doubt be looking for the spider that made that monstrosity of a web. ;D

She was none too impressed.
