So i wanted to show my vft feeding to a friend. Went out got the smallest crickets i could get from closest pet store and fed a trap about 1 cm in size. The trap closed almost fully and seemed it knew it was in there. The cricket was a bit big for it and it took a few seconds for it to close, so now the trap has slightly opened showing a portion of the cricket. Another friend wanted to see it feed as well and bugged me about it. There was another trap open about 3 mm and the trap itself was about 7mm. I cut 1/3 of the small cricket and fed it to the trap but my hand was just hangin in the air with no support. I managed to trigger the trap but flinched at the last moment and missed my landing. I kinda regret it now as it wasnt as spectacular as i had hoped but im not worried i will just leave them for now and let them grow a lot more before i feed them again, that way i have a bigger landing space . So to all the other new peeps with baby plants, maybe we just need to be more patient for good quality trap action.

its harmless, and accidents happen, depending how fresh or hardened that trap is, it may end up dieing when its digesting that cricket because there isn't a proper seal, but before it dose it will get at least some nutrients from it and will put out bigger and better traps. just try not to over feed it Sib
