I've had this heliamphora minor growing in my terrarium since i think september-october of last year. It is planted in pure peat, had roots that go very deep, 9-10 inches. I fill the traps with RO water every now and again, and every so often, i feed a couple new traps a beta fish pellet. Temps are based on room temp, but the lights (2x T5HO) raise the ambient temp inside. They vary between 24-27 celcius, to room temp at night, i keep all my windows open, so there's always good air circulation. The terra has two slits on either end, to vent air in and out, 1 inch by 12 on either end. They grow alonside a plethora of other cp's that have acclimated to this setup. ![](http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo202/blokeman1/DSCN3502.jpg) Sadly, my cam's batteries are dead, so this is the only pic for now. MUST... FIND... CHARGER!!! ENJOY!!

It's in a 'planted-style' terra, that's why the roots can go so deep ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) it is actually 8 inches deep, my bad, i just measured.

Sadly, after flowering, I would periodically check to see when the pollen would be ready to collect. (side note: I honestly don't think you'll need a pitchfork, the anthers are right there...) So yeah, I must have missed the past day or two, because when I checked tonight, the anthers have already withered... Hopefully, it will make 3 flowers, and I would be more attentive to collect it on the second go around, hopefully being able to polinate a potential third flower. Got my fingers crossed ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Getting flowers on your Heli is some impressive growing Blokeman. And being able to pollinate your flowers to produce viable seed would be quite the accomplishment. Good luck with that!

Hey cool my Heli Minor just started throwing up a flower as well! Just noticed it yesterday. Any tips on pollenating? Does it pollenate with its own pollen by teasing or must it be crossed? I have never been able to really understand when its ready to pollenate or what to do exactly but I would love to try it out!

What i would have done, as I was told that they won't self pollinate, was to take the pollen from the first flower (ready it seems between x? days after opening... I missed it, left the house for 2 days, and they had already turned brown.. check every day!) and keep it for the second flower, removing the anthers of the following flower, or not, but i couldn't find the female parts...
How about I take apart my non-used flowers, hopefully showing you what needs to go where... I'll borrow my fiancés camera, take an exacto and dissect the flower, I'll do so tomorrow... cheers!
